Overview

This is the most common type of 3D printing technology today. It's basically a robotic hot glue gun that builds objects layer-by-layer.

How it Works

Plastic Filament is fed by gears through a heated area, where it is then squeezed through a nozzle and applied layer-by-layer onto a flat surface. File:FilamentExtrude.jpg
